Keyword Engine & live analysis — why a metric can show 'unavailable'

ContentCraft has a design rule: when a data source can't return a number, the product shows "unavailable" instead of inventing one. You'll see this most in the Keyword Engine:

  • Competition unavailable — the live results page for that keyword couldn't be fetched at analysis time (rate limit or a blocked fetch). Re-run the analysis later; you're never charged for a keyword that got no live metric.
  • Volume shown as an "evidenced base" — where no measured figure exists, the product may show a volume base with its source, basis and recording date printed next to it. It's labeled evidence, not a hidden estimate.
  • Trends unavailable — Google Trends is frequently rate-limited; the product shows that honestly rather than a fabricated series.

Demand and intent are computed from live signals (autocomplete breadth, SERP composition, trend direction) and the basis is shown with the result. If a metric matters for a decision, re-running the analysis when the source is responsive is the intended path — the honesty is the feature.
